  1. What is Cognitivism Paradigm?
  2. What is Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset?
5 Main Theories of Learning

According to this week two materials I found out there are four major learning paradigms. Learning paradigms are really new area in science, therefore, scientists are still work on this area.

Form my personally experience I do use cognitivism paradigm. My major is marine biology. In biology, we need to know a lot of species at the beginning of the course. Cognitivism is come from behaviourism. In biology study , we need to do a lot of practices and give our professors feedbacks as soon as we can. We need to use our memory to memorize a lot of things.

In past 20 years I always believe that people who use left hand to write mean their right brain is smarter than right hand people. However, after finished the quiz, I found out this myth is wrong. The Brian is complex than we thought, therefore, we cannot made a conclusion without experiments.

Fixed mindset or growth mindset

About this Video

This 2 minutes video introduces what Mindset is and how to determine fixed mindset and growth mindset. Professor Carol Dweck uses Mindset to describe thinking ability and talents of people. In this video, it use some examples to explain what a fixed mindset think and a growth mindset think about the same thing such as facing a difficult task etc. Though this video we can conclude that Mindset can influence people on creative risk tasking, the way they get a feedback and how they can solve difficult tasks.

Thought about Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset

Fixed mindset for me is not a good thing. I believe that the world is changing so we need to change as well. Fixed mindset will make us to miss some opportunities. Therefore, I highly recommend that people can change their mindset to growth. I always put my mindset at growth because I believe practices can make every thing become better.
